VINYASA YOGA

vinyasa yoga is an intensive style of yoga in which different poses fluidly move in sequence to the rhythm of breathing. depending on the intensity of the class, it is also called power yoga. vinyasa offers the perfect combination of strength and flexibility and is categorised within the yang energy. the session usually starts with a focus on the breath, where a breathing technique may be suggested. next, we gently warm up the body. then sun salutations prepare the body for powerful standing poses, balance poses, arm balances,... each class builds up to a specific, challenging posture or peak pose. every class also gives space for some core stability exercises. towards the end of the class, some seated and supine poses are found, allowing the body to cool down gently. we traditionally end with a well-deserved Savasana or full relaxation at the end of the session.

BASIC VINYASA YOGA

during the basic vinyasa class, we return to the basics of vinyasa yoga. the fundamentals of this yoga form and correct breathing are discussed in detail. the class is ideal for beginners, but experienced yogis will also do well to refresh the basics from time to time. the pace is slightly slower, but both body and mind are challenged in this class too.

Dynamic Vinyasa flow

the dynamic vinyasa flow class finds its foundation in vinyasa yoga but in addition to the linearity found in vinyasa yoga, this class offers more room for creative, inventive poses. breathing remains the basis for movements that are fluid and dynamic. the poses smoothly flow from one to another with frequent spinal waves throughout the class - approaching the all vertebrae separately and emphasising activation of core muscles. every session builds up to a - often challenging - peak posture.

this is Anke's favourite type of yoga, she loves to keep her sessions creative rather than tranditional.
